Daichiel Thistle Highland Dance started as Chelsea Highland Dancing through the local Community Education Department with only mild curiosity at the time. In the fall of 2006 we were fortunate to have young dancers become enthusiastic about the tartan tradition and take our highland dance group to new heights. These core children along with their parents are the backbone and energy that has caused our dance group to grow and become an integral part of our small community in Chelsea, Michigan.

Highland dancing not only enriches the dancer's life but also the family that supports and takes part in its offerings. My own family enjoyed many Canadian weekends camping out at festival grounds - falling asleep and waking to drums, pipes and thick Scottish brogues. It was an experience! All Highland Dancers should have such fond memories. This is the goal of Daichiel Thistle!
